Wii Console seen at local Target

It blows my mind how I stumble upon the wii consoles when I go to the store.  This is the fifth time it’s happened where I wander into a random store and just so happen to see a new stock of wii consoles for sale!  I stopped into Target earlier to pick up some toilet paper and wandered into the electronic section to see if the littlebigplanet game my brother wants for playstation 3 was marked down by chance.  It wasn’t but I walked around the corner and there were 9 wii consoles in the display case!  I was just at the same target last night picking up some other stuff.  I forgotten the toilet paper last night and that’s why I ended up there again.  But last night, there wasn’t any wiis.

I was tempted to pick up another unit in hopes of unloading it on ebay or something but I think I’m done with that.  The last unit I had only sold for about a $14 profit after everyone took their cuts.  It’s too much of an investment upfront for a marginal profit.  Plus the auctions are nerve racking as you wait and wait and most people jump in to bid in the last 10 minutes or so.  My first unit I sold back in June actually went for about 15 bucks more in profit.  I think the idea of selling it for profit during the holidays is what most people think is the best idea but when you see every single minute on ebay, another unit is ending, the competition is way stiff.  There are just too many available units selling on ebay currently to make any kind of significant money.

Don’t get me wrong, there are some people who miraculously score some crazy bidders battling it out to the very last microsecond and end up making like 80-120 in profit while some auctions I was surveying were barely breaking even.  I mean, one guy had just one bidder and his wii sold for 249.99 which is the retail value.  Unless he got his on a deal or was given to him, there was no way he could have made any money off of that.  His $15.00 shipping fee wouldn’t have covered the tax he paid for the unit when he bought it nor pay for shipping, unless he’s shipping it the slowest possible.  My Wii package weighed in at around 10 lbs and it cost around 20 bucks to ship it priority mail.

Anyway, in case you’re looking for a wii system this christmas, before you bid on any auction, go check your local target to see if they have any in stock, maybe you’ll get lucky!  :good:
