I just saw the preview on Kindle 2 at Amazon.com today that is available for pre-order, that thing is soooo thin!
The pictures had it compare side by side to a pencil and it’s astonishing to me how they are able to make it so sleek and amazingly thin, it’s less than half an inch in thickness and weighs next to nothing!!
I like the look of it more than the original Kindle and I’m finding more and more devices these days are leaning towards the look of something Apple would put out, simple, streamline, sophisticated. :good: I am tempted to get a new one since I read not only a lot of books of various interests but I also read a lot of ebooks in pdf format that can be converted and viewable on kindle 2! That is a big selling point for me on this new designed reading device. I know some people have gotten around to viewing pdf files with the original kindle while others couldn’t make it work, I’m glad to see this capability on the new unit. :clapping:
Even though there are a lot of original kindle owners who say the new Kindle 2 isn’t much of an upgrade since they eliminated the use of a micro sd slot and user changeable batteries. The new Kindle 2 does boast more internal memory and extended battery life than previous model along with a whole host of other improved features. There’s even a text to speech capability now with Kindle 2!! Lately I’ve been a huge fan of text to speech ever since I got some natural voices and software that will read my pdf files aloud. I am not the fastest reader and its beneficial to me to have long ebooks read to me while I’m surfing the net or even exercising! I’ll write more about this in another post.
Anyway, there are too many cool new things to mention here, just click on over to Kindle 2 and see for yourself how amazing this thing is and how Kindle is changing the way people are reading today!
