It’s Jean Eng and I’m back to blogging again!

Once upon a time, I had a blog on another web server and I wrote in it almost daily. I probably still have the backup for it but when I switched hosting providers, I never put it back up.

Now it’s been over a year since the switch and I have seriously missed writing down my many random thoughts, some deep and some rather silly! Not to mention all my crazy ideas and projects I get myself into.

Life’s changed since I last blogged, I haven’t figured out if the changes have been good ones quite yet. I would hope things are going in a positive progressive manner but at times it’s hard to tell whether decisions I’ve made were actual ones that are best suited for me, especially considering the outcome of them now that I’m in the future to those previous choices.

I thought about reinstating my old blog posts on the new server but somehow, it just didn’t feel like something I really wanted to do. The past is gone, there is only today so TODAY is a new blog with a brand new coolest design if I do say so myself! I am thoroughly in love with the colors I have chosen and the graphics I have made.

I actually have been thinking for months now that I wanted to blog again but I couldn’t come up with a design to fully express ME. It was either I couldn’t decide on a color scheme or the layout or categories or my logo, etc. Then yesterday, I just decided to stop weighing things and just do it! If it’s EVER going to get done, I have to start somewhere, so here I start, once again.

I think the biggest stumbling block is ………. the categories. *blush* I think sometimes I spend too much time trying to set things in place before I begin (planning) that I delay the journey. There’s times that’s great to plan ahead so things are done right the first time around but man, it sure takes the spontaneity out of life to always consider planning first.

Some days, I’m not sure who I am anymore. One part of me just want to do things on the fly without care or worry for anything or anyone. But then another part of me wants to be grounded, practical, and prepared. Although…I’m not exactly sure what I’m preparing for.

Ok, I just realized that I really miss my smilies I had on my old blog. I have yet to install smiley plugins and one day soon, I’ll get to it. For now, you’ll just have to figure out my tone without seeing the cutesy smilies!

Now where was I? This is why my main category is “Random Thoughts” because I jump topic to topic and I have a lot of thoughts in general. You’ll find these posts to be pretty long at times, I have lots to say!

Yesterday, the color came to me! I kept on seeing this pretty powder blue color everywhere and I absolutely love blue and yellow! So I was messing with colors and patterns and came up with this gorgeous blue swirly pattern for my background image! It was hard to get it to show in a seamless fashion and I’m not sure if it does on an entire page but for this blog to only show it on the sides as the backdrop, I think it’s pretty darn seamless. I think the swirls really distract you from seeing where the seams are.

And since I am a master as creating star fields, in graphics and in real life Starscapes, I thought it would only be appropriate to create a lovely starry background for my header and footer and incorporate my artwork into my logo and this blog! Right now is a good time for a plug of what I do….

I am a Starscapes Artist-Illusionist who paints ceiling murals of the night time starry sky! My business is called Cosmic Rooms and you can go check out my website. I’m in Maryland but I paint within the surrounding states. I’ve gone as far as New York to paint when the client was willing to pay for travel costs. It’d be cool to paint globally one day! We’ll see where this business will take me.

I’m not sure if I actually like the logo but it’ll do for now. And I don’t have all my categories set up as I’m still not sure what I’ll be writing about. I figure that I would just add categories on an “as needed” basis.

It’s part of my adopting the “just do it now” philosophy. Who knows what tomorrow will bring and who knows what we are able to create tomorrow by what you have done today but if we don’t start somewhere, sometime, we may never see anything blossom.

I’m planting seeds, let’s see what will bloom come next season! Join me on this journey to……world travel, self discovery, grand ideas, things of beauty, and many more! I just can’t tell you now what it will be….
