I’ve been really fascinated lately with the brain and meditation, especially in regards to different frequencies of brainwave for brain entrainment purposes. While chasing links on my research, I stumbled upon this video that was absolutely fascinating!
It looks like it’s a talk given by this lady named Jill Bolte Taylor who is a brain researcher that recounts her experience through a stroke she had and how her body and her perceptions altered during the episode.
I had my favorite aunt who passed away a few years ago (it’s hard to believe it’s been that long already) from a stroke. Since that time, I’ve wondered what it may have been like for her to go from a vibrant world traveler to one day having a stroke and being in a coma for a month and ultimately dying. What WAS going on inside her brain during that time and whether she was even aware of her surroundings. And I don’t mean in a general way coma patients would but just her in particular, not some statistical facts, just her.
Anyway, I am not looking to get too deep in it about my aunt here but it was just a fascinating video by this woman that sort of gave me an insight into what it may have been like for my aunt. And an insight into the benefits of meditation.
